Ice Skating

The LA Kings Ice at Mammoth Lakes provides an Olympic-size indoor ice skating rink in the brand-new Community Recreation Center (CRC).

The CRC will be open and available to the public year-round, with the new ice rink operating annually each winter season between the months of October and April. Whether you’re looking for a pick-up hockey game or want to enjoy casual skating with loved ones, the indoor ice rink is the perfect addition to your winter vacation.

Public skate At The Community Recreation Center

Public ice skating sessions are held seven days a week. Friday and Saturday sessions run throughout the day from noon to 10pm. Skate session times and days may vary throughout the season due to tournaments and other special events. Check the schedule for details on events and rates.

Ice Skate Rentals & Concessions

If you don’t have your own pair of ice skates, you can rent them at the CRC for use at the facility only. Helmets and skate aids are also available for rent. Skate sharpening services are offered as well.

Events At The Community Recreation Center

The LA Kings Ice at Mammoth Lakes is home to a number of special events throughout the year. Santa makes a special appearance at the annual Skate with Santa Night, FREE Learn to Skate lessons take place during US Figure Skating Month (January) and USA Hockey Week Across America offers a number of fun activities in late February.

LA Kings Ice at Mammoth Lakes is also proud to offer and host a variety of youth and adult hockey programing. This includes leagues, tournaments, camps, in-house Learn-to-Play programs, and Pick-Up/Stick Time sessions.

Interested in learning how to curl? Multiple Learn-to-Curl sessions are scheduled throughout the season. Advance registration required. The Adult Coed Curling League runs from January through April. The league is open to all skill levels, with 10 regular season matches scheduled.

Getting To The Community Recreation Center

Consider taking the free Mammoth Lakes shuttle to the Community Recreation Center, as parking in the area is limited. Both the red line from Main Lodge and the Village and the purple line drop off at stops near the ice rink. If you are on the red line, get off at stop #7 (right in front of Salsa's and Distant Brewing) and walk down Old Mammoth Road past The Stove. The Community Recreation Center will be on the right about 200 yards to the South.
