Weather & Average Temperatures

No matter the season, when you are headed outdoors layering is key as the temperatures can vary. Because our weather can change quickly, always carry waterproof clothing during any time of year.

Spring in Mammoth Lakes (April – May) – While there can still be snow on the ground through the spring, the days can be warm and sunny. The highs are between 50- and 60-degrees Fahrenheit and the lows are usually between the high 30s and low 40s.

Summer in Mammoth Lakes (June – August) – Summers in Mammoth Lakes are warm and August is usually the hottest month of the year. Summer temperatures average between 70- and 80-degrees Fahrenheit with lows in the 40s.

Fall in Mammoth Lakes (September – October) – You can still experience beautiful weather in the fall, but the first dustings of snow usually come in October. The highs average between 50- and 60-degrees Fahrenheit and the lows average between 30- and 40-degrees Fahrenheit.

Winter in Mammoth Lakes (November – March) – Along with being the coldest time of year, you can also expect around 400 inches of snowfall during the average winter, with January usually being the coldest month. You can expect temperatures from the low teens to the low 40s throughout the winter months.
