Whether you enjoy world-class fishing, hiking through aromatic sagebrush and wildflowers, or shredding the slopes under sunny skies, you don’t want to miss Memorial Day Weekend in Mammoth Lakes.

Camping

With temperate weather and clear skies for stargazing, Memorial Day Weekend is a great time to camp out. Check the Mammoth Lakes Campground Report for updates on campground openings. Things to Do

Local Events

Check out the annual Mammoth Lakes Film Festival over the holiday weekend. This five-day festival will have screenings in multiple locations and after parties celebrating filmmaking at Distant Brewing and Main Street Pizza and Tap.

Riding and Biking Mammoth Mountain

And of course, you'll want to grab bragging rights for skiing and snowboarding at Mammoth Mountain for closing weekend. Conditions permitting, there may be opportunities to mountain bike as well. A two-for-one on the hill!

Biking

Other activities include biking the Town Loop, or if you'd like to explore a little farther, pedal your road bike through the Owens Valley. You can also opt to enjoy the fresh air and sweeping views from an e-bike! Check out Mammoth Lakes Trails System for areas you can bike within our region.

Fishing

Many lakes in the region are ice-free and ready to be fished. Crowley Lake, Convict Lake, Twin Lakes, June Lake, Gull Lake, Grant Lake and Silver Lake are all in the Mammoth Lakes region and north a bit in Bridgeport is another Twin Lakes and the Bridgeport Reservoir. Please check with marinas directly for information on operations at specific lakes.

Golfing

Snowcreek Driving Range, Snowcreek Golf Course and Sierra Star Golf Course will be open this weekend so you can start warming up your swing.

Hiking

Hiking trails that are likely snow-free include Hot Creek Interpretive Area, Convict Lake, Inyo Craters, Mono Lake, Parker Lake, as well as Lower Rock Creek.
