Cross Country Skiing in the Mammoth Lakes Basin

Experience the unspoiled terrain of the Mammoth Lakes Basin on cross country skis at Tamarack Cross Country Ski Center. Featuring 19 miles of freshly groomed track around the Mammoth Lakes Basin, Tamarack Cross Country Ski Center offers cross country ski lessons and ski and boot rentals. The area also features ski skating lanes and a snowshoe path. Use of the groomed cross country ski trails in the Lakes Basin requires a cross country ski pass.

Cross Country Ski Passes at Tamarack Cross Country Ski Center

Tamarack Cross Country Ski Center offers a variety of passes from partial and full day to multi-day and seasonal passes. Full-day passes are valid from 8:30 am until 5 pm. Afternoon passes are available beginning at 1 pm, or for a quick trip, the twilight pass is good from 3 pm until close.

Events at Tamarack Cross Country Ski Center

Throughout the season, Tamarack Cross Country Ski Center hosts a variety of races, clinics and other events. Full Moon Tours, held at 7 pm on two night around the full moon December to February, are a favorite among visitors and locals. Getting to the Tamarack Cross Country Ski Center

The free Orange Line bus offers transportation from the Village at Mammoth to the Tamarck Cross Country Ski Center.

By Car

Visitors can also drive to the ski center via Lake Mary Road. Veer right at the winter road closure and park at Tamarack Lodge. The rental shop and ticket office are in the yurt at the far end of the parking lot.
