Snow Report for Mammoth Lakes
The storms have kept coming and show no sign of slowing. These storms will definitely complicate the already unreal amount of snow that we have here so a reminder of our top tips: Check road conditions before traveling and while traveling, be prepared for delays and closures, carry chains, extra water and food, and blankets. And remember, that your gps and traffic apps are not always up to date of road conditions. If the main routes are closed, it’s likely the side roads are in way worse condition. So far this season, Mammoth Mountain has a snow total of 634 – 804 inches.
Be Patient (and Thank a Local)
Please remember that locals have been shoveling non-stop just to get to work to help our town operate. They are tired, but they are here for you! Please thank them if you have a chance.
With this amount of snow, town is going to feel tight. Snowbanks are HUGE and often tough to see around whether you are driving or walking, and parking lots are tight. Please use extreme caution and be patient when looking for parking spots and when driving to and from the mountain. Being patient helps everyone stay safe.
Please be aware that due to the extreme nature of this storm, operations could be affected, and delayed openings of lifts is expected. For current operations, check the Mammoth Mountain app or website.
As always, keep an eye on reports about road conditions and closures and plan your travel during times when the roads are safest. Remember to always clear your roof of snow, as it may shift while you drive.
