The Mammoth Ultra 50k and 25k will be run in the Long Valley Caldera with the Whitmore Recreational Fields being both the start and finish for both events. The 50k course will be two 25k loops - 8 hour cut-off. The course will be within US Inyo National Forest and on gently rolling dirt roads and jeep trails.

Fall Town Clean-Up Day October 11, 2008 |

The first annual Fall Town Clean-Up Day has been scheduled on Saturday, October 11, 2008. Community members are encouraged to clean-up their neighborhood including the Lakes Basin before the arrival of winter. Biodegradable trash bags will be available for collection at Mammoth Creek Park or Tamarack Lodge and Resort in the Lakes Basin from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and prior to October 11, 2008 at the Town Offices – Minaret Village Mall, 437 Old Mammoth Road. Town staff and volunteers will collect full biodegradable trash bags of litter from our streets, trails, and public areas on Saturday, October 11, 2008. Personal yard waste, including pine cones/needles will not be collected. The public is asked to deliver their yard waste directly to the Mammoth Disposal Transfer Station, located at 59 Commerce Drive in the Industrial Park between 6:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. If you would like to volunteer for the first annual Fall Town Clean-Up Day, or would like more information, please contact Michael Grossblatt, Town of Mammoth Lakes Human Resource and Risk Management Director at (760) 934 8989 ext. 266.
