Winter Safety Tips

Check road conditions.
Clear snow off your car, including the roof.
Carry tire chains—know how to install them & where. Use safe shoulders or chain up zones. Do NOT use the middle of the road.
Slow down and allow extra time for winter travel.
Pack an emergency kit: a flashlight, blankets, food and water.
In stormy weather, don’t chance driving unfamiliar rural roads even if your mapping software suggests otherwise — this can lead to being dangerously stranded.
Because of plowing, parking on any town roadway is illegal from November 1 to April 30.
