Mammoth Lakes is located in the heart of the Eastern Sierra. From Lake Tahoe to the North to Lone Pine, with it’s unparalleled views of Mt. Whitney to the south, there is so much to see and do within a small radius from Mammoth Lakes. Plus, in the summertime, the east entrance of Yosemite National Park is just 45 minutes away from Mammoth Lakes, which means you can reach Yosemite Valley in about two hours.

Transportation from Mammoth Lakes to Yosemite National Park

Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System (YARTS)

YARTS provides safe, comfortable and convenient public transit into Yosemite National Park during the summer months. The bus runs from June or July through September when Tioga Pass (Hwy. 120) is open. Weekend service is available in June and September, with daily trips coming to and from Yosemite National Park throughout July and August. Check the schedule for specific pick-up locations and times.

Book your trip in advance online to ensure enough spots for your group, or pay with Visa, Mastercard, Discover or cash (exact change only). This summer, when you fly to Mammoth Lakes, you can redeem your United Airlines boarding pass for a free ride to and from Mammoth Lakes on YARTS, with the entry fee to Yosemite National Park included.

Mammoth All Weather Shuttle (MAWS)

MAWS offers group and private tours of Yosemite National Park. Both group and private tours can accommodate up to 14 guests. All tours include pick-up from your condo or hotel in Mammoth Lakes, transportation to and from Yosemite National Park plus travel within the park, a knowledgable driver/tour guide and lunch.

Mammoth All Weather Shuttle (MAWS)

MAWS provides friendly and professional passenger transportation and shuttle services to or from Mammoth Lakes along the Eastern Sierra corridor. From summer sightseeing tours and trailhead transfers to long distance shuttle services, MAWS can take you from Mammoth Lakes to almost any Eastern Sierra destination you’d like to spend the day exploring.

Mammoth Cabs

With regional service from Lee Vining to Big Pine, Mammoth Cabs provides transportation for sightseeing and hiking in the Eastern Sierra.

Mammoth Taxi

Book trailhead transfers from Mammoth Lakes to regional trailheads or from one trailhead to the next with Mammoth Taxi. Reservations are required by 6 pm the night before.

Sierra Shuttle Service

Sierra Shuttle Service offers trailhead transfers for hikers from Lee Vining to Lone Pine. Mountain bikers can book transfers to local trails, including Lower Rock Creek and the White Mountains.

Transportation to Mammoth Lakes by Bus

If you’re interested in traveling longer distances north or south on Hwy. 395, Eastern Sierra Transit Authority (ESTA) provides transportation to Mammoth Lakes from Reno, Nevada or Lone Pine, California with stops in between and from Lancaster, California to Mammoth Lakes.

Eastern Sierra Transit Authority (ESTA) Bus from Reno or Lone Pine to Mammoth Lakes

Available Monday-Friday, the Lone Pine to Reno ESTA route (with stops in Mammoth Lakes) runs once a day. Check the ESTA website for the most up-to-date schedule. Tickets can be purchased directly from the driver. Plan to have exact change if you’re paying in cash. Credit cards are accepted for this bus route.

Eastern Sierra Transit Authority (ESTA) Bus from Lancaster to Mammoth Lakes

Available Monday-Friday, the Lancaster to Mammoth Lakes ESTA route runs once a day. Check the ESTA website for the most up-to-date schedule. Tickets can be purchased directly from the driver. Plan to have exact change if you’re paying in cash. Credit cards are accepted for this bus route.

Eastern Sierra Transit Authority (ESTA) Bus from Bishop to Mammoth Lakes

Available Monday-Friday, the Mammoth Express ESTA route runs four times a day from Bishop to Mammoth Lakes. Check the ESTA website for the most up-to-date schedule. Tickets can be purchased directly from the driver with cash only. Plan to have exact change. Advance purchases can be made with a credit card at the Bishop or Mammoth Lakes ESTA offices.
