Whether you are a new or novice climber looking to experience the thrill and excitement of your first outdoor climbing experience, or an experienced climber seeking more aggressive multi-pitch climbs a guide will be with you every step of the way. The guides specialize in helping the new or novice climber experience the thrill of outdoor rock climbing.

But they also offer more experienced climbers a chance to be challenged with some of the best sport climbing and multi-pitch climbing the Sierra has to offer. Climbing Guides knows how to make the most of your day, putting you on the right terrain and encouraging all climbers to push beyond their preconceived limits and (sometimes!) comfort zones.

Guided Climbing Trips In Mammoth Lakes

Private Guided Climbs

Head out with an expert climbing guide for a full-or half-day guided climbing trip (8 hours or 4 hours respectively) to explore one of many Mammoth Lakes climbing areas. Your guide will help you to plan your day based on your interests and skillset.

All skill levels are accepted on private guided climbs, so you don’t need to have any previous experience. Families are also welcome to book private guided climbs in Mammoth Lakes with Ground Up Climbing Guides or International Alpine Guides.

Guided Group Climbs

Groups of 8 or more can schedule a group climbing outing with an expert guide. The guided group climb option is perfect for larger groups (think: wedding parties, clubs, or large families). Both full-and half-day guided group climbing trips are available.

Gym to Crag Transition Weekends

Making the transition from indoor gym climbing to outdoor sport climbing is often a daunting challenge, but it doesn’t need to be. Ground Up Climbing Guides is hosting a series of “Gym To Crag Transition Weekends” in Mammoth Lakes. These clinics focus on the skills needed to safely enjoy bolted sport climbing if you’ve already begun climbing at a gym.

Throughout the weekend, climbers learn skills such as cleaning anchors, rappelling, beginning lead climbing and beginning anchor building and gear placement. Check the Ground Up Climbing Guides website for details about when sessions for this clinic are held throughout the summer and pricing.
