Hiking trailheads and trout fishing spots nearby make this a popular destination for both day and overnight visitors. Amenities in the Reds Meadow valley include a general store. Reservations are not available.

Starting September 18, 2023, the Reds Meadow Road will be closed to the public Monday through Friday. There will be no access to the area during that time. The road is anticipated to be open Saturday and Sunday, but will be determined based on construction work.
