Overview
Originally released in 1925 and forgotten to the archives of silent film, A Woman of the World (celebrating its 100th anniversary this year) follows a liberal European countess, played by Pola Negri. A progressive 1920s punk rock heiress escapes heartbreak on the Riviera and arrives in a conservative Midwestern town to visit her long lost cousins. Complete with a fresh tattoo on her arm, the crest of her former lover, she causes quite the uproar amongst the god fearing farming community. She falls for the town’s mayor and head of vise police and madness, romance, and comedy ensues. Think Footloose 1920s - with a tattoo, a whip and a wild streak. It’s a blast - and the Pearl Jam sync is powerful, fun, and rocking. A punk rockers story before punk even existed!
