Crowley Lake is considered one of the best stillwater trout fisheries in the country, and for good reason. Ever since the lake was created in 1941 it has provided ideal habitat to grow large trout.

Sometimes the best adventures are the easiest. While most anglers buzz right past Arrowhead Lake on their way up to Skelton or Barney or to cast around Duck Pass, they leave the small but fun to fish lake in their wake.

One of the things that makes Mammoth Lakes so special is how much adventure it offers without ever having to venture too far from the comforts and culinary treats of town. The Sherwin and Valentine Lakes are perfect examples.

If you ask local fishing guide Nathan Wray about his favorite place to fish, you’d expect him to have a hard time choosing. But for Nathan the choice is pretty easy. It’s the San Joaquin River.
