365 Days of Awesome

Many people know Mammoth Lakes as a winter destination because it is home to Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, one of North America's finest ski areas, but in reality, Mammoth Lakes is a year-round playground.

Mammoth Mountain has an impressive snowfall record of more than 400 inches, annually, providing Alpine skiing, snowboarding and Nordic for all ability levels. Mix in our 300 days of sunshine a year and you have a great blend of powder skiing with bluebird days. Check out our winter section for other types of winter adventures you can enjoy during your visit.

As the days grow longer and the snow begins to melt in the lower elevations around Mammoth Lakes, recreational opportunities begin to grow. Enjoy a morning on the slopes and an afternoon on your mountain bike or playing golf. Take a look at our spring section to learn more.

Locals like to say that you come to Mammoth Lakes for the winter, but you stay for the summer. With ideal weather conditions, and a huge outdoor playground at your fingertips, including access to Yosemite National Park and Bodie State Historic Park, you won't want to miss summer in the high Sierra. Check out our summer section to plan your ideal warm-weather getaway.

Fall is the best kept secret in Mammoth Lakes. With fewer crowds than in the summer months and fall colors that rival those on the east coast, a fall foliage trip is a must. Read more in our fall section.
