Mammoth Lakes Film Festival Gets Some Love from MovieMaker
Mammoth Lakes Film Festival celebrated its second year in epic style, featuring 50 selections (including shorts, documentaries and full-length features) from all over the world during the five-day event in May 2016. Directors, actors, special guests and festival attendees came together to enjoy the films and the breathtaking eastern Sierra scenery.
This year’s film festival solidified the event as a must-go for any movie lover, but you don’t have to take our word for it. Check out the festival feature in MovieMaker that was published in mid-September, which describes the event as an up-and-coming festival offering “something for everyone” film selections, an intimate experience, and an amazing setting. We couldn't agree more!
“It’s an exquisitely tight selection of films—just 50 in all, from all over the world—pared down with obvious care. For an indicator of the fest’s ambitions to become a “destination,” take the astonishing range of its narrative feature competition: All seven films were first features, but that was about the only thing that connected them.”
The article highlights each of the films in this competition as well as the perks of attending this festival, right down to the “nocturnal filmmaker jaunts out to the nearby hot springs that carry on until four in the morning.” Mammoth Lakes Film Festival has all the amazing range and guests, from actors to directors, that any other fest would have, but its newness offers an intimacy and laid back vibe that others can’t beat.
If you’re a film buff who wants to see the best the world has to offer on screen, meet some of the special guests and get away to one of the most beautiful spots in California, start planning to attend Mammoth Lakes Film Festival in 2017.
