Welcome Center

Located at 2510 Main St. at the entrance to the Town of Mammoth Lakes, 3 miles west of Hwy 395.  The California Welcome Center Mammoth Lakes is a unique interpretive and educational resource center whose staff, through their individual areas of knowledge and expertise, provides visitors a customized experience and warm welcome to the Eastern Sierra.

The center showcases interpretive geological and historical exhibits, helpful lodging and activity information, a store that offers naturalist merchandise, regional and children's books, and a cozy fireplace and chairs where one can relax and enjoy them.

Wilderness permits, maps, camping information and bear resistant food containers are also available.

Interpretive programs are offered 4th of July weekend through Labor Day weekend.  Naturalist alpine ski tours, cross country ski tours and snowshoe tours are offered mid-December through mid-April, weather permitting.

Hours of Operation: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Daily. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.
